Nipah Virus: The Situation is Under Control: No Cases Detected

In a statement dated February 4th, the Ministry of Health and Wellness announced that no cases of the Nipah virus have been detected in Mauritius, Rodrigues, Agalega, or Saint Brandon.

Authorities, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), are monitoring the outbreak declared in West Bengal (India) and are implementing enhanced surveillance for travelers coming from that region.

A 24-hour helpline (8924) is operational to assist with any concerns.
