A CNT Ticket Collector Stabbed in Belle-Rose
A ticket collector from the National Transport Company (CNT) was targeted in an attack on Wednesday, February 4, near Belle-Rose. A passenger, whose face was concealed by a hood, categorically refused to pay for his fare. In response, the ticket collector asked the individual to exit the bus. This upset the attacker, who then stabbed the ticket collector in the face.
The bus driver did not hesitate to intervene to subdue the armed individual, preventing more serious injuries to his colleague. The suspect was held at the scene until law enforcement arrived and was handed over to the local police. The assailant, a 21-year-old resident of Bambous, was taken into custody and will answer for his actions in court.
