Champs-de-Mars: Mauritians Gather for National Day 2026

With a quadricolor flag in hand, Mauritians are gearing up to attend the celebrations for the 58th anniversary of Mauritius' independence at Champs-de-Mars on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

On this occasion, a solemn flag-raising ceremony will take place, followed by a cultural performance highlighting the richness and diversity of Mauritian heritage. To reflect the core values of the Republic of Mauritius, the National Day will be celebrated under the theme "In Peace, Justice and Liberty."

The President of the Republic of Seychelles, Patrick Herminie, will be the guest of honor at this celebration.
