Decisive Election at the Mauritius Sanatan Dharma Temples Federation: Continuity or Change?

Is there to be continuity or change at the helm of the Mauritius Sanatan Dharma Temples Federation? We will find out this Sunday afternoon, March 15, following a highly competitive election.

Three teams are in the running: the outgoing president, Bhojraj Ghoorbin's team, the team led by Ashish Woochit from Hamara Sanatan Dharma, and Rajendra Ramdhean's team from the United Hindu Council.

Members have been voting since 10 AM this morning until 3 PM. The election, overseen by the Electoral Commission, aims to renew the executive committee of the federation, which comprises about 300 affiliated temples across the country.

For reference, Bhojraj Ghoorbin has held the presidency of the federation since 2020.
