Weather: A heavy rain warning issued for Rodrigues

A heavy rain warning was issued for Rodrigues at 4:40 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2026, by the Vacoas weather station.

Heavy rainfall is currently being recorded on the island. Active clouds, linked to a tropical disturbance integrated into the monsoon trough, are causing intense showers accompanied by thunderstorms in the region. Several weather stations around the island have reported significant amounts of rainfall.

The stations that received the highest precipitation over the last 12 hours, up to 4:30 PM this afternoon, are as follows:

• Pointe Canon: 102.5 mm
• Plaine Corail: 124.2 mm

These heavy rains are expected to continue throughout the night, accompanied by thunderstorms.
