Navin Ramgoolam's Lawyers: "The Safe Case is a Matter of Political Vendetta"

"The safe case is a matter of political vendetta." This statement was made by Navin Ramgoolam's lawyers on the morning of March 30, in front of the Financial Crimes Division of the Intermediate Court.

During the witness testimony, a former inspector from the Central Criminal Investigation Department (CCID) was questioned.

In cross-examination, lawyer Robin Ramburn, one of Ramgoolam's attorneys, asked if he was aware of Sir Anerood Jugnauth's public statements during the 2014 electoral campaign, as well as the election manifesto of the Lepep alliance. The lawyer sought to determine whether the police had investigated these various elements.
