Murder of Bryan Alifoykooye: The MCIT Tasked with Retrieving Laura Travady from Rodrigues

Laura Beatrice Travady is still in custody at the Rivière-Coco police station. She is suspected of murdering her partner, Jean Richard Bryan Alifoykooye, aged 35. She was arrested on Saturday in Rodrigues by the Divisional Crime Intelligence Unit (DCIU) under the supervision of Inspector Félicité. The 29-year-old woman had flown in that morning, just hours before the grim discovery at the deceased's home in La Brasserie.

Procedures for her repatriation to Mauritius have already been initiated. It is expected that a team from the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT) will travel to Rodrigues as soon as possible to bring her back.

Once she returns to Mauritius, Laura Beatrice Travady will be questioned about the murder of Jean Richard Bryan Alifoykooye, who was found with a deep gash in his neck. An autopsy revealed that the victim was slit open and bled out.

The CID of Curepipe has made a second arrest in this investigation. This is Steven Rungen, 29, a resident of Roche-Bois. Investigators suspect that he assisted the suspect in leaving the country to go to Rodrigues after the murder.
