Cannabis Cultivation in Pointe-aux-Sables: A Contractor Arrested
Forty-one cannabis plants weighing 21 kilograms, along with one kilogram of dried cannabis leaves, were seized in Pointe-aux-Sables on Friday. The drug is estimated to be worth around Rs 21 million, according to the anti-drug brigade.
The operation was conducted by the ADSU team from the Western Division. The suspect, a 38-year-old building contractor, was arrested for cultivating and trafficking cannabis. He will appear before the Weekend Court this Saturday.
The ADSU discovered a well-equipped greenhouse at the site, optimized for cannabis cultivation, along with high-tech equipment including LED lights, fans, and air filters that were also seized.
