Death of Naden Chelikani in an accident at Grand-Bel-Air: his son recalls a recent conversation about road dangers

Two fatalities and three injuries: this is the outcome of a severe car accident that occurred this morning in Grand-Bel-Air. Five individuals were in a vehicle that crashed into a tree before bursting into flames. Three occupants managed to escape the car, while two others, Naden Chelikani and Marjorie Aristide, were trapped in the flames and perished.

Naden Chelikani, a resident of Rose-Belle, was returning from Mahébourg at the time of the accident, according to his son. Vineshen Chelikani, speaking to RadioPlus, mentioned that he was unsure of his father’s destination and did not know the identities of the other occupants in the vehicle.

Naden Chelikani had various roles throughout his life as a livestock farmer, hunting guardian, and planter.

His son also shared that they had recently discussed the dangers of the road: "I told him to be careful, and he told me to be careful too... I just got my license, the road is dangerous..."

The other victim is Marjorie Aristide, also a resident of Rose-Belle. According to her sister, Roselyne Aristide, two other occupants of the vehicle were Marjorie Aristide's children.
