Electricity: Restrictions on Non-Essential Uses Starting May 1st
The government will tighten regulations on electricity consumption deemed non-essential starting May 1st, lasting until November 1, 2026. The new restrictions will specifically target illuminated signs, decorative lighting, illuminated facades, air conditioning in empty premises, and certain decorative fountains.
Hospitals, emergency services, street lighting, and strategic infrastructure will remain exempt. The stated goal is to curb energy waste and promote more responsible consumption.
