MRA: Over Rs 25 Billion in Unpaid Taxes as of March 31, 2026

A staggering amount. Rs 25.7 billion in taxes remain unpaid to the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) as of March 31, 2026. Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam disclosed this figure yesterday, Tuesday, April 28, during his response to a question from MP Ram Etwareea at the PMQT in the National Assembly.

Breakdown of unpaid taxes:

  • Rs 14.9 billion in corporate income tax
  • Rs 7.1 billion in value-added tax
  • Rs 2.8 billion in personal income tax
  • Rs 352 million in betting and gaming taxes
  • Rs 254 million in tax deductions at source
  • Rs 249 million in other taxes
