Avinash Ramtohul: "Mauritius Post Limited is Facing Serious Financial Difficulties"

During the parliamentary session on Tuesday, April 28, Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, Avinash Ramtohul, confirmed that Mauritius Post Limited is experiencing a challenging financial situation. He specified that for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, the company recorded an operating loss of Rs 282 million. Concurrently, the shareholders' deficit amounted to Rs 1.7 billion, while pension liabilities reached Rs 2.6 billion. To address this situation, several measures are planned: internal restructuring, an increase in certain tariffs, a hiring freeze, cost reductions, and the development of e-commerce and parcel-related services.
