Allegations of a Second Case of Foul Play: Laura Travady Named

The Major Crimes Investigation Team has begun checking information following statements suggesting that Laura Beatrice Travady may be involved in the death of a 47-year-old resident of Curepipe. His body was found on an abandoned lot in Riche-Terre on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Two days earlier, his daughter had reported him missing to the Curepipe police. An autopsy attributed the cause of death to pulmonary edema caused by an overdose. At the time, relatives of the deceased mentioned an attempt to withdraw money from the deceased's bank account after his death.

The Terre-Rouge police were alerted. In a message posted on social media in March 2025, Jonathan, the brother of the deceased, referred to an assault that his brother may have suffered. However, so far, the police investigation has been unable to confirm any criminal acts related to the death of this Curepipe resident.

For reference, Laura Beatrice Travady, 29, is accused of killing her partner Jean Richard Bryan Alifoykooye, 35. He was found slaughtered at his home in La Brasserie, Curepipe, on April 11. Laura Beatrice Travady returned to the scene of the tragedy on Wednesday for a reenactment of the events.
