Bel-Air-Rivière-Sèche: A Mother Arrested During a Drug Seizure

On April 29, the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) conducted a search at a house in Bel-Air-Rivière-Sèche. The suspect, a 37-year-old man, was not present. Officers met with his mother, a 57-year-old woman residing at the same address. She was arrested for possession of cannabis with the intent to traffic.

During the search, investigators uncovered a hydroponic cultivation setup. Over eight kilograms of cannabis plants were found. The search also led to the seizure of a black plastic bag containing one kilogram of cannabis. The absent suspect’s passport, two jute bags, and water bills were also confiscated. The investigation is ongoing to locate and apprehend the owner of the property.
