Human Trafficking: 26 Cases Reported Between January 2024 and April 2026
A total of 26 cases of human trafficking have been reported in Mauritius between January 1, 2024, and April 24, 2026. This was announced by the Prime Minister in Parliament, in response to a question from MP Rubna Daureeawo. According to information provided by the police commissioner, legal proceedings have been initiated in four cases: three files are currently before the courts, and one case has already resulted in a conviction. The authorities continue to address this serious issue.
