The SeaBrew Solar Farm Project Reaches a Decisive Milestone and Accelerates Implementation in Amaury

At Amaury, the SeaBrew Solar Farm project continues to make progress. During a site visit held on April 21, SeaBrew Solar Ltd confirmed that it has achieved two critical milestones: obtaining all necessary permits with support from the relevant authorities and securing banking support from MCB since December 2025. These two structural milestones ensure the successful realization of this national energy infrastructure.

Led by a consortium of responsible producers within the IBL Group, which includes Phoenix Beverages Ltd, Froid des Mascareignes Ltd, and Marine Biotechnology Products Ltd, with IBL Energy as the technical and operational lead, the project is part of the ongoing energy transition initiatives in Mauritius.

On the ground, the project is already well underway. With over 50% completion, the construction structures are in place, and the photovoltaic panels are being gradually installed. Located in close proximity to a 66 kV substation of the Central Electricity Board, the power plant will benefit from direct and optimized integration into the national grid, thus enhancing its strategic role in the country's energy supply.

With an installed capacity of 18.447 MWp and composed of 28,824 photovoltaic panels, SeaBrew Solar Farm is expected to produce an average of 26 GWh of renewable electricity annually over the next 20 years, starting from its scheduled commissioning at the end of August 2026. This production is equivalent to the combined annual consumption of the industrial facilities of Phoenix Beverages, Froid des Mascareignes, and Marine Biotechnology Products, while also helping to avoid nearly 25,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year.

"This project is part of the national efforts to support the energy transition. It illustrates the private sector's ability to contribute concretely to structural initiatives in partnership with authorities. In an international context marked by uncertainties in energy markets, investing in renewable solutions is a crucial lever to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and strengthen the energy resilience of Mauritius. Through SeaBrew, we are contributing to reducing our carbon footprint while actively supporting the country's energy transition," says Bernard Theys, Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix Beverages Ltd.

"The complete securing of the regulatory and financial framework confirms the project's robustness and the professionalism of the teams from the early development phases. The current level of advancement demonstrates IBL Energy's ability to quickly and efficiently build a strategic energy infrastructure in a demanding international context and to contribute concretely to the country's energy needs," emphasizes Pierre Egot, Chief Operating Officer of IBL Energy Ltd.

Beyond the numbers, by injecting renewable energy into the national grid, SeaBrew Solar actively participates in diversifying the Mauritian energy mix while strengthening the country’s energy security.

This project is part of a broader dynamic, where the private sector, alongside authorities, supports Mauritius' evolution towards a sustainable energy model by mobilizing innovation and technical expertise.
