Cambridge Exam Leak: HSC/GCE A Level Mathematics Test Cancelled and Rescheduled
The Mauritius Examinations Syndicate (MES) has announced the cancellation of the HSC/GCE A Level Mathematics exam (9709/12), which was scheduled for Wednesday, April 29. This decision comes as a result of a leak of the exam paper in various regions, including Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia. In Mauritius and Rodrigues, 448 candidates are directly affected by this measure.
Cambridge has organized a replacement exam to take place on Tuesday, June 9. This initiative will incur no additional costs for the students and aims to ensure fairness in grading and maintain the international recognition of the diplomas among universities.
Additionally, a second alert concerns the 9709/52 Mathematics exam held on Tuesday, May 12. Cambridge has informed the MES that this test also appears to have been "compromised" internationally. Educational authorities are currently awaiting further directives regarding the next steps for this specific exam.
