Plaisance: Seizure of Rs 194.2 Million Worth of Cannabis from Eight Foreign Passengers

A significant drug bust occurred on Sunday, June 22, at Plaisance Airport. Authorities seized 161.9 kilograms of cannabis, valued at Rs 194.2 million, hidden in the luggage of eight passengers, including a seven-year-old child, arriving from Great Britain. This operation was conducted by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Section in collaboration with the Anti-Drug & Smuggling Unit at the airport, following the arrival of a British Airways flight from Gatwick, London. The investigation is being overseen by Police Superintendent Ghoora, Assistant Superintendent Goinden, and Chief Inspector Doss from the airport's ADSU.
