Eight foreign passengers arrested in Mauritius after seizure of Rs 194 million worth of cannabis

Eight foreign passengers, including a seven-year-old child, were arrested in Mauritius on Sunday after 161.9 kilograms of cannabis, valued at approximately Rs 194.2 million, were discovered in their luggage.
The seizure was made during a joint operation by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Section (CANS) and the Anti-Drug & Smuggling Unit (ADSU) at the airport, following the arrival of a British Airways flight from Gatwick, London.
The investigation is being supervised by Police Superintendent Ghoora, Assistant Superintendent Goinden, and Chief Inspector Doss, all from the ADSU at the airport.
The eight passengers appeared before the Mahébourg court on Monday afternoon.
