Health: Chikungunya: A Sixth Case Confirmed

A new case of chikungunya has been reported, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to six. This is also the first confirmed case since December 2025. The patient is a 53-year-old man residing in the Beau-Bassin area.

According to the interim director of health services, Dr. Fazil Khodabocus, the patient is currently admitted to a private clinic where he is receiving care. His health condition is considered stable.
