Beware of Fake News!

A false piece of information is currently circulating on social media via a Facebook page called "Now and Around." This page shares a link to an article titled: "Thousands of Mauritians Still Don't Know the Truth: The Interview on Radio Plus That the Government Wants to Erase from the Internet." Another article titled: "Dawood Rawat Can No Longer Keep Silent" has also been published.By clicking on these links, users may see the Défi Media Group logo at the top of the page, leading them to believe that these are legitimate publications from the media group.However, these are fake news. The Défi Media Group has never published these articles on its digital platforms. The misuse of its name, logo, and visual identity is an attempt at misinformation and undermines the credibility and professionalism of the group, which is committed to disseminating verified and reliable information.The Défi Media Group reserves the right to take legal action against anyone or any entity using its visual identity to spread false information. The dissemination of fake news is a crime punishable by legal sanctions. Offenders face penalties of up to ten years in prison and fines of up to Rs 1 million if convicted by the Court.
