Awarding of Rs 30 Billion Contracts to Mercantile & Maritime Group: Rajiv Servansingh Allowed to Leave After Hearing at the FCC

Rajiv Servansingh, former CEO of the State Trading Corporation (STC), has been allowed to leave after being re-heard by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) on Tuesday, April 29. His hearing, which was conducted "under warning," is part of the FCC's investigation into allegations of irregularities and conflicts of interest during the awarding of Rs 30 billion oil contracts by the STC to Mercantile and Maritime Group (MMG) for the supply of petroleum products for the 2023-2024 period.
One troubling aspect raised in this investigation is that MMG did not participate in the initial tender process launched in May 2023. As a reminder, FCC investigators had searched Rajiv Servansingh's home, seizing his electronic devices. The former STC CEO has retained the services of lawyer Shyam Servansingh.
Upon leaving the FCC premises in the late afternoon, Rajiv Servansingh declined to comment.
