PNQ: "Investigations Are Ongoing," Says PM Regarding Tevin Sithanen's Allegations of Interference
In addition to the resignations of Rama Sithanen and Gérard Sanspeur, the allegations of interference by Tevin Sithanen, son of Rama Sithanen, at the Bank of Mauritius (BoM), were also raised by Joe Lesjongard in the National Assembly on Tuesday, October 7. In response, the Prime Minister stated that "investigations are ongoing" to shed light on these interference allegations.
The Opposition leader posed several additional questions to Prime Minister Dr. Navin Ramgoolam during the Private Notice Question (PNQ).
Regarding Rajeev Hasnah's continued position as First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Mauritius, Navin Ramgoolam clarified that, at this stage, these are just allegations.
As for the potential reinstatement of unionist Chid Rughoobur within the BoM, the Prime Minister emphasized that he does not intend to interfere in the internal management of this institution.
