Toxic Loans Case: Sanjiv Ramdanee, Brother-in-law of Former PM Pravind Jugnauth, Arrested by the FCC
Sanjiv Ramdanee was arrested by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) on Tuesday afternoon, December 2nd. The FCC has charged him with conspiracy related to the Toxic Loans case, involving the company Dhyanavartam Ltd.
According to the FCC's investigation, bank loans classified as "toxic loans," totaling Rs 470 million, were allegedly granted to Maradiva Villas and Resorts & Spa.
The brother-in-law of former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth will be placed in police custody.
As per an official document from the Registrar of Companies, Dhyanavartam Ltd, owner of Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa, initiated voluntary liquidation proceedings on May 16, 2025.
