Abandoned Baby in Rose-Hill: Mother Arrested Thanks to Motorcycle Identification, Brother Detained
The mother of the abandoned newborn in Rose-Hill has been arrested following the identification of a motorcycle used to transport the baby from Dagotière to Rose-Hill. This breakthrough resulted from meticulous analysis of images captured by the Safe City camera system.
The Divisional Crime Intelligence Unit (DCIU) of the Western Division traced the route taken and identified the individuals involved. The 29-year-old woman was arrested for the offense of "Abandoning a Child," while her 19-year-old brother, who was driving the motorcycle, was also detained for "Aiding and Abetting in the Commission of a Crime." During questioning at the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) in Rose-Hill, the mother confessed.
It is worth noting that the female newborn was discovered in a bag in front of a church in Rose-Hill on the night of Thursday, December 18, by a local resident along with three nuns. The baby had been placed in an insulated bag and was one to two days old at the time of her discovery.
