Link Road in Cascavelle: Six Porsches Spotted Driving at 180 km/h Instead of 80
On Monday, December 22, Transport Minister Osman Mahomed visited Link Road in Cascavelle after a serious accident occurred on this road on Saturday, which he described as "extremely serious".
In a statement to the press, Osman Mahomed addressed another incident reported that morning on the same road. According to him, six Porsche vehicles were spotted driving at 180 km/h, while the maximum speed limit is 80 km/h.
"I don’t believe this is a coincidence," he emphasized. "Those who come to race here, be careful!" the minister added.
For context, the driver involved in the accident on Link Road had a blood alcohol level of 70 micrograms, according to the police report.
Preliminary investigation details indicate that the vehicle lost control suddenly around 6:20 PM near the Cascavelle roundabout. While attempting to overtake, it first grazed another car before crashing head-on into a Mitsubishi Pajero and a BMW, ultimately overturning on the roadway.
