IBL Leads Several Solidarity Initiatives for Families and Children Supported by the Joseph Lagesse Foundation This Year-End

In December, IBL undertook several solidarity initiatives through the Joseph Lagesse Foundation, rallying its teams around concrete actions to support families involved in its social programs.

These initiatives culminated on December 22 with the distribution of food parcels to vulnerable families assisted by field workers connected to the Joseph Lagesse Foundation, showcasing IBL Group's commitment to action on the ground.

Prior to this distribution in the regions of Batterie Cassée, Baie-du-Tombeau, and Bambous, employees from IBL's Head Office mobilized on December 17 and 18 to prepare the food parcels. This effort followed the Social Engagement Day on December 10, a significant event for raising awareness and facilitating discussions, allowing teams to better understand the realities faced by the communities supported by the Foundation and to commit to various forms of assistance.

Additionally, the Social Engagement Day encouraged volunteers among IBL's Head Office employees to engage in either short-term or long-term initiatives. The Joseph Lagesse Foundation maintains a close relationship with communities in Batterie Cassée, Baie-du-Tombeau, and Bois Marchand, providing support through educational and community development programs.

With a focus on sustainable action, IBL volunteers are encouraged to visit the field to gather precise information and establish profiles of each community. This approach will subsequently enable the co-creation of targeted programs in education, health, and other areas of community development with the respective communities.

"These initiatives reflect the commitment of the teams and the Joseph Lagesse Foundation's desire to act concretely and responsibly towards the communities it supports. They demonstrate collective mobilization, in which IBL's Head Office employees are fully involved. Through our actions in Batterie Cassée, Baie-du-Tombeau, and Bambous, we provide tangible support during the festive season while embedding our efforts in a deeper reflection on food security in Mauritius. This commitment is part of our ongoing initiative, Les Cuisines Solidaires, which prioritizes access to dignified and responsible food as central to our daily actions," states Murielle Adelson, Social Projects and Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator at the Joseph Lagesse Foundation.

Through the various actions of the Joseph Lagesse Foundation, IBL reaffirms its commitment to fostering a more inclusive and supportive society. By leveraging the work of its Foundation, the Group aims to enhance the impact of its initiatives and respond, in a targeted manner, to the needs of the communities it serves.
