Ahaan Dasootee, 8-month-old, dies in a pool at babysitter's home: parents seek answers

The parents of Ahaan Dasootee are devastated by the tragedy that occurred this Saturday afternoon in Petit-Raffray. The eight-month-old baby lost his life after falling into a children's pool while playing with his older sister, who is also very young. The incident took place at the home of their 39-year-old babysitter.

According to Suraj and Samantha Dasootee, the tragedy happened in an instant. "We didn’t expect this; a misfortune occurred," they shared.

For the record, the child was taken by the babysitter to the Mediclinic in Goodlands, where medical staff confirmed his death.

In a statement to the Goodlands police, the babysitter explained that the infant was under her care and that at one point, she found him in the pool. The babysitter is currently being questioned by the police.

An autopsy will be conducted this Saturday evening to determine the exact circumstances of the death. A police investigation has been launched.
