Murder of Marie Joëlle Fineau: Altercation Between Victim's and Accused's Relatives After Court Hearing

An unusual scene unfolded outside a court session this Wednesday. An altercation broke out between relatives of Roger Sheldon Yannick Marie, accused of murdering his partner, and those of the victim. The police, supported by security personnel, intervened to calm the situation.

Just before this incident, Roger Sheldon Yannick Marie, a 30-year-old former driver, was found guilty by a majority of seven jurors against two for the murder of his partner.

He was charged with manslaughter of 43-year-old Marie Joëlle Martine Fineau, née Numa. The events date back to February 12, 2022, in Terrasson, Pointe-aux-Sables. The victim's body, in an advanced state of decomposition, was discovered in a septic tank at the accused's residence.
