Richard Duval's Statement on the Controversy Surrounding José Arunasalom at the Tourism Authority

"I will never interfere in what my colleagues do in other ministries; I focus solely on my own ministry. I will not tolerate anything. I am very disturbed by everything that has happened these last few weeks." This was stated by the Minister of Tourism, Richard Duval, in a statement to Radio Plus this Saturday. He was reacting to the suspension of José Arunasalom from the presidency of the Mauritius Tourism Authority.

During its meeting on Friday, March 6, 2026, the Cabinet took note of allegations of irregular practices against José Arunasalom, president of the Mauritius Tourism Authority.

The Cabinet decided:
• That an investigation be conducted into the allegations made.
• That actions be taken to proceed with the immediate suspension of José Arunasalom.
