Fatal Attack in Goodlands: A 40-Year-Old Man Loses His Life

An investigation into murder has been launched following the death of Pierre Louis Olivier, a 40-year-old resident of Cité Sainte-Claire, which occurred on March 16, 2026, after a violent attack.

Law enforcement initially found the victim at the local Mediclinic, where he had sustained severe injuries from machete blows. Despite being rushed to SSRN Hospital for intensive care, the man succumbed to his injuries.

A joint operation, carried out by the Northern Divisional Crime Intelligence Unit and the Goodlands CID, based on precise intelligence and a tactical intervention in Grand Gaube, led to the arrest of a primary suspect.

Identified as 27-year-old Jean Guillano Bundhoo, he has been taken into custody for questioning regarding his direct involvement in this fatal assault. The Goodlands CID investigators are currently continuing their inquiries, and the alleged suspect is scheduled to appear before the Rivière du Rempart District Court today for provisional charges.
