Chikungunya: 31 New Cases Reported This Saturday

Yesterday, 31 new cases of chikungunya were reported. The majority are located in the Rose-Hill area, including Plaisance, Stanley, Camp-Levieux, and Roche-Brunes, which account for 13 cases. The total number of cases has risen from 22 last week to 31, bringing the overall total to 735 cases since the beginning of the year, with nearly 100 active cases currently.

According to Dr. Fazil Khodabocus, acting director of health services, the warm and humid climate promotes the proliferation of mosquitoes.
