Allegations of Abuse at Twaha Academy: Osman Mahomed Denies Any Involvement in Maulana Azhar Peerbocus's Departure
Minister Osman Mahomed has categorically denied any involvement in the departure of Mufti Azhar Peerbocus, who is currently being sought by the police following allegations of child abuse and inappropriate behavior at Twaha Academy, located in Bel-Air. The minister questions the motives behind a campaign against him and does not rule out the possibility of bringing the matter to the appropriate authorities.
According to available information, Azhar Peerbocus allegedly left the country on April 1st heading to South Africa. He is the Acting Principal at Twaha Academy Boarding School in Pont Lardier, Bel-Air, and is facing complaints filed by two children regarding abuse and inappropriate conduct. The investigation is being conducted by the Family Protection Brigade of the Eastern Division.
The investigation is ongoing. Minister Osman Mahomed reaffirms that he played no role in the suspect's departure.
