Sale of an Audi Q5 by Air Mauritius: Amba Manikum and his partner, Kiran Balgobin, released on bail

Amba Manikum and his partner, Kiran Balgobin, have been released on bail after appearing in court in Port Louis this morning. They are facing provisional charges of Public Official Using Office for Gratification and money laundering.

Amba Manikum, a Senior Manager at Air Mauritius, is suspected of selling an Audi Q5 owned by the company for Rs 200,000 to his partner, despite the vehicle's estimated value of Rs 750,000. It is alleged that the same vehicle was then resold by his partner for Rs 750,000. They were arrested by the Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday.
