Show of Hands Vote: MMM Delegates Assembly Decides to Stay in Government
"The MMM remains in government." This decision was made by the assembly of the Mauves delegates following a show of hands vote held this afternoon at the Belle-Rose banquet hall.
Delegates were asked to weigh in on a key question: to stay in the government or to leave it. Of the 400 members in this body, 306 were present.
However, this vote took place without the party leader, Paul Bérenger, as well as Joanna Bérenger and Chetan Baboolall.
Subsequently, the president of the MMM, Reza Uteem, issued a call to Paul Bérenger, urging him to respect the wishes expressed by the party activists.
For his part, the party's general secretary, Rajesh Bhagwan, believes that the activists have sent a strong signal to the MMM leader.
