Weather: Showers with Isolated Thunderstorms Expected This Friday

Clouds associated with an area of instability approaching from the northeast will gradually influence the local weather. The weather will be partly cloudy this morning with showers, according to a statement from the Vacoas meteorological station issued at 4:30 AM on Friday, April 17.In the afternoon, these showers may be of moderate intensity, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms, particularly over the western half of the island and the Central Plateau.Pockets of fog are also expected in certain regions.The maximum temperature will range between 24 °C and 26 °C on the Central Plateau and between 29 °C and 31 °C along the coastal areas.The wind will be light and variable this morning, then will blow from the northeast during the day at about 20 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 50 km/h during showers.The sea will be rough beyond the reefs with swells from the south of about 2 meters.Practical advice in case of thunderstorm showersThe public is advised:1. To stay sheltered and avoid plains, hiking, sea outings, and not to take shelter under trees during thunderstorms;2. To be very cautious on the roads due to reduced visibility caused by showers and fog.
