Weather: Heavy Rain Advisory in Mauritius Extended Until 4 AM Saturday
A heavy rain advisory is in effect in Mauritius until 4:00 AM on Saturday, April 18, according to the bulletin issued by the Vacoas meteorological station on Friday, April 17.
Clouds associated with an area of instability coming from the east are influencing local weather conditions.
Scattered showers are expected during the night and into Saturday morning. These showers could be temporarily heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms.
Temporary water accumulations are possible in flood-prone areas. Visibility will also be reduced due to fog and heavy showers.
The public is urged to exercise caution and stay indoors, avoiding low-lying areas, hiking, and sea outings, as well as not taking shelter under trees during thunderstorms. It is also advised to stay away from flood-prone areas and to be extra vigilant on the roads due to poor visibility.
