Animal Abuse: Fourteen Dogs Seized During Police Intervention
Following a complaint about dog abuse and illegal breeding, a team from the Mauritius Society for Animal Welfare (MSAW) intervened this morning, Monday, April 20, with police support. The individual involved is already known to the authorities and is believed to have violated the Animal Welfare Act again.
The offenses primarily concern Section 3 of the law, which punishes any act of cruelty towards an animal, including depriving it of food, water, or shelter, among other things.
