[Video] Leptospirosis: 4th Death on Tuesday, 15 Active Cases in the Country

A patient admitted to Dr. A. G. Jeetoo Hospital in Port Louis passed away yesterday, Tuesday, April 21. The cause of death was attributed to leptospirosis. Since the beginning of the year, four people have died from this disease, and there are currently 15 active cases in the country.

Dr. Dinassing from the Ministry of Health and Wellness stated to ION News that the deceased patient had comorbidities, which worsened their health condition. He urged the public to take more responsibility to prevent the proliferation of rats, which are vectors for the transmission of this disease.
