Bérenger Invites Everyone Wanting to Continue the 'Militant Struggle' to Join a New Political Movement

In a message posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, April 22, Paul Bérenger asserts that "the struggle continues" and reiterates the foundations of his political commitment, which began in 1969.

He lists a series of priorities, including "the fight against communalism and all forms of discrimination, the defense of democracy, the necessity of electoral reform, as well as the fight against corruption and influence peddling." He also highlights the promotion of meritocracy, social justice, workers' rights, and the strengthening of educational and public health systems.

Environmental issues, the protection of the environment, and the exclusive economic zone, as well as Mauritius' sovereignty over Chagos and Tromelin, are also among the topics mentioned.

"If we have left the current government, as well as the MMM, it is primarily due to serious violations and shortcomings regarding these key points of the struggle we have been engaged in since 1969," writes Paul Bérenger.

He finally calls on those wishing to continue this struggle to join a new political movement "that is in the process of being born."
