"The Struggle Continues": Paul Bérenger Calls to Join a "New Movement That is Emerging"
In a message posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, April 22, Paul Bérenger asserts that "the struggle continues" and reiterates the foundations of his political commitment, which began in 1969.
He outlines a series of priorities including "the fight against communalism and all forms of discrimination, the defense of democracy and the necessity of electoral reform, as well as the battle against corruption and influence peddling." He also emphasizes the promotion of meritocracy, social justice, workers' rights, and the strengthening of the educational and public health systems.
Ecology, environmental protection, and the exclusive economic zone, along with Mauritius's sovereignty over Chagos and Tromelin, are also among the discussed issues.
"If we have left the current government, as well as the MMM, it is primarily due to serious violations and failings concerning these key points of the struggle we have been waging since 1969," writes Paul Bérenger.
Finally, he calls on those who wish to continue this struggle to join a new political movement "that is emerging."
