Murder of Nawsheen Chady: Her Husband, Safwaan Chady, Temporarily Charged

Safwaan Chady, 38, has been temporarily charged with the murder of his wife, Nawsheen Chady, 37, at the Moka court on Friday, July 11.

The tragedy, which occurred on Thursday, July 10, stemmed from a dispute over a sum of Rs 2,000. Safwaan, who has a history of drug addiction, had been arguing with his wife about this money for three days.

After being informed by her daughter, Nawsheen's mother alerted the police in Saint-Pierre yesterday morning, following threats made by Safwaan against Nawsheen and other relatives.

During the argument, Safwaan Chady violently struck his wife with a metal bar, delivering several blows, one of which was fatal to her head. Nawsheen Chady died as a result of a skull fracture and brain laceration.
