Major Operation by the FCC: Four Suspects Arrested

In a significant operation this morning, the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) apprehended four suspects, including Steven Mootoocurpen. Two other individuals were arrested at Morne and Camp-Levieux in Rose-Hill. This operation was part of a large-scale initiative led by the National Coordination Committee.

The joint operation involved the FCC, police, Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA), and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), among others.

Searches were conducted in Camp-Levieux, Rose-Hill, Le Morne, Moka, and several other areas.

The operation is connected to suspicions of drug trafficking and money laundering.

In addition to multiple SUVs, cars, and motorcycles—over fifteen in total—several classic cars were also seized.

At this point, authorities have not disclosed the exact quantity of drugs or the precise number of confiscated vehicles.

The seized vehicles have been transported to the FCC headquarters in Réduit, along with the suspects, who are currently undergoing interrogation.
