Ravatomanga Case: FCC Remains 'Unyielding Against Attempts of Destabilization and Disinformation'
In the Ravatomanga case, the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) asserts that it remains 'unyielding against attempts of destabilization and disinformation' and is more determined than ever to fulfill its mission. This statement was released by the commission on Friday.
According to the FCC, the Mamy Ravatomanga case is a major investigation, particularly complex, with local and international ramifications.
In its statement, the commission clarifies that its mission is to detect, investigate, and prosecute various types of financial crimes, including corruption, money laundering, fraud, influence peddling, and drug trafficking, despite numerous attempts at destabilization and disinformation aimed at discrediting the institution.
The FCC also reminds that the Acting Director General, Tritudeo Dawoodarry, has been in office since September 12, 2025, following an initial nine-month appointment in December 2024.
'His first term ended on September 10, 2025. On September 11, 2025, due to a vacancy in the Director General position, the President of the Republic reappointed Mr. T. Dawoodarry as Acting Director General of the FCC effective September 12, 2025,' the commission states.
The FCC emphasizes that statements made in some public declarations against Mr. Tritudeo Dawoodarry have never been part of testimonies made to the FCC in the presence of the relevant lawyers.
Regarding the resignation and arrest of former commissioner Junaid Haroon Fakim, the FCC clarifies that Christian Thomas made serious allegations against him on Friday, October 24, during his hearing related to the Maminiaina Ravatomanga case.
The following day, Saturday, October 25, Junaid Haroon Fakim submitted his resignation to the office of the President of the Republic.
In light of growing speculation on social media, the FCC decided the next day to issue a statement to dispel any doubts surrounding this resignation.
On Thursday, October 30, 2025, Mr. Fakim was summoned to the FCC to provide his account of the events following Mr. Thomas's allegations, after a rigorous verification process.
Following this hearing, Junaid Haroon Fakim was arrested under sections 22(1) and 161(2)(a)(6) of the FCC Act, for 'public official using his office for gratification' and 'breach of confidentiality', respectively.
In conclusion, the FCC reaffirms its commitment to pursuing its mission with objectivity and integrity, in strict adherence to the rule of law.
