Port-Louis Court: Pravind Jugnauth Present to Support His Brother-in-Law Sanjiv Ramdanee

Former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth attended the Port-Louis court on Wednesday, December 3rd, to support his brother-in-law, Sanjiv Ramdanee. Other members of the MSM party were also present, including former Finance Minister Renganaden Padayachy and ex-Minister of ICT Deepak Balgobin.

Sanjiv Ramdanee is appearing before the Port-Louis court after spending the night at the Moka Detention Center, following his arrest the previous day by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) as part of the investigation into the 'Toxic Loans' case.

He is suspected of conspiring to secure a loan of 470 million rupees intended for the construction of villas at Maradiva.

This investigation follows the arrest of Premchand Mungur, former CEO of SBM, by the FCC on June 18, 2025. He was charged with fraud by abuse of function, according to the FCC Act, and was released on bail of 450,000 rupees. He is contesting his arrest through an injunction.
