If you were the Minister of Christmas, what would your first law be to make Mauritius happier?
(With intense joy) I would build free playgrounds in every neighborhood and on all the beaches. Swing sets, slides, trampolines... This way, all children could play together, even those who don’t have many toys.
What would you change so that all children in Mauritius have a better Christmas?
(With a warrior's spirit) I would organize a massive snowball fight. A real one, with magical snow that doesn’t melt in the sun. Everyone could join in: kids, adults, even parents.
What is one thing you would ban during the holidays?
Firecrackers. They scare dogs, cats, and even some children. At Christmas, we should protect animals and have kind hearts.
If you could give a magical gift to the entire island, what would it be?
I would distribute Christmas cookies all over the island. Cookies shaped like stars, Christmas trees, and reindeer... And I would even send some by plane to Rodrigues so everyone can share in the sweetness.
A special guest for your ideal Christmas?
(With a mischievous smile) I would invite Santa Claus to stay for a whole year in Mauritius. That way, he could grant the wishes of many children and even adults. And maybe he would learn to dance the sega! (Laughter)
