Seizure of Rs 114 Million: Pravind Jugnauth at the Pamplemousses Court
Former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth appeared again at the Pamplemousses Court on Tuesday regarding the seizure of Rs 114 million. During the last hearing on August 19, a representative from the Public Prosecutor's Office indicated that the investigation was ongoing.
Pravind Jugnauth was arrested on February 15 by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC), which accuses him of concealing a large sum of cash, both in Mauritian rupees and foreign currencies, amounting to Rs 114 million, through Josian Laval Deelawon.
Upon leaving the court, Me Raouf Gulbul, the lawyer for the former head of government, stated that his client "maintains his innocence and is available for investigators."
