Me Gulbul: "Pravind Jugnauth Wants to Know the People He Cannot Interfere With"
The lawyer for former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth explained why he requested a list from the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) detailing the individuals his client cannot interfere with, as part of one of the conditions of his conditional release.
In a statement to the press on Tuesday following Pravind Jugnauth's court appearance in Pamplemousses, Me Gulbul clarified that his client aims to strictly adhere to this condition and avoid any violations. This is the reason for his request to the FCC to identify the specific individuals involved.
The FCC will announce its position on this request on February 26.
Pravind Jugnauth appeared in connection with the case involving the seizure of Rs 114 million. He was arrested on February 15, 2025, by the FCC, which accuses him of concealing a substantial amount of cash - in Mauritian rupees and foreign currencies - totaling Rs 114 million through Josian Laval Deelawon.
