Seizure of Rs 114 million: Pravind Jugnauth demands a list of individuals he cannot interfere with

Former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth appeared this morning before Magistrate Bheema Bhoyroo at the Pamplemousses court. His lawyer, Me Raouf Gulbul, requested that the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) provide the names of individuals with whom his client cannot interfere, given his status as a public figure. Following this request, the FCC sought a postponement to clarify its position. The case will be revisited on February 26, 2026. It is worth noting that Pravind Jugnauth was arrested on February 15 by the Financial Crimes Commission, which accuses him of concealing a substantial amount of cash—valued at Rs 114 million—in Mauritian rupees and foreign currencies through Josian Laval Deelawon.
