St-Pierre: Bhageeruth Mdhin Files Complaint for Police Brutality

A complaint has been filed for police brutality. Bhageeruth Mdhin, a defeated candidate from the Alliance du Changement in the municipal elections in Vacoas-Phoenix, claims he was assaulted by a police officer.

According to his statements, the officer was driving at high speed. Bhageeruth Mdhin allegedly confronted him, which the officer did not take well.

The incident reportedly took place on Sunday in St-Pierre, near a traffic light. Bhageeruth Mdhin is currently hospitalized.

He is requesting that the Safe City camera footage be reviewed to shed light on the incident.

For its part, the police confirm that a complaint has been registered. The involved officer has also filed a complaint, including charges of contempt and reckless driving.
